Attended during my fourth year as part of the “Junior Year Abroad Program.” Studies included immersion into a design unit, each of which pursued distinct and unique design themes. The year included trips to Brussels and Madrid and two projects that explored the architectural flip, architecture that can programmatically and mechanically change forms.

Attended Pratt while displaced from Hurricane Katrina. Studies focused on Architecture and Intermediate Photography.

Professional Experience

Penguin Group (USA), Berkley Books Division. New York, NY.
March 2010-May 2010
Intern in the Art Department of Berkley Books, an Imprint of Penguin Group. Duties include book cover design, filing, photo research, data back-up, and other office jobs.

Sterling and Ross Publishers. New York, NY.
November 2009-present
Work part-time as a book cover designer for the publishing company. Duties include design and layout of an assortment of covers.

Michael Crosby, Architect. New Orleans, LA.
July 2008-February 2009
Assisted in the creation, organization, and design of a booklet on Sustainable Housing techniques from the 20th century and design methodologies for the 21st century. Duties included case study and housing typology research, diagramming, architectural drafting, and graphic design.

Habitat for Humanity. New Orleans, LA.
May 2007-August 2007
Spent several months with Habitat for Humanity rebuilding houses around the New Orleans area in neighborhoods affected by Hurricane Katrina. Gained first hand knowledge of Type V construction from foundations and framing to roofing and finishing.

Tulane University Housing and Residence Life. New Orleans, LA.
August 2005-May 2007
Resident Advisor to 30+ incoming freshmen each academic year. Duties included acting as counselor and resource to the residents about Tulane and its available support programs as well as functioning as a liaison between the administration and the student body. Learned to work well within a team of peers as well as lead and building community among a group of individuals.

Gained extensive experience using various large-scale plotters and a lazer cutter.
